About CLAIO/SBPO
We invite ALIO members and the worldwide OR community to come to Rio de Janeiro
in September 2012 for the CLAIO/SBPO. The joint conference consists of the
XVI CLAIO, the biannual conference organized by ALIO
and the XLIV SBPO, the annual symposium organized by
SOBRAPO.
This CLAIO/SBPO edition is devoted to professors Nelson Maculan, Andrés
Weintraub and Hugo Scolnik on the occasion of their 70th birthday.
The CLAIO/SBPO will be held at Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV),
located
downtown Rio de Janeiro. The conference venue is
situated in the heart of
Rio’s financial district, a rich area also in cultural spaces such as the
Candelária
Church, built in the 18th century, the Banco do Brasil Cultural
Center (CCBB), a 1906 neoclassical building, and the Post Office Cultural
Center, built in the early 20th century (1922).
The academic program will consist of parallel, technical and special sessions,
plenary talks and tutorials covering several aspects of OR. This year, the
official theme of the symposium will be Operations Research in major
sports events.
The 2012 edition of the Latin-Ibero-American Spectral Graph Theory Workshop (LIA-SGT
Workshop) will be held simultaneously in the same place of CLAIO/SBPO. The aim
of the LIA-SGT Workshop is to gather research groups in Spectral Graph Theory
from Portugal, Spain and Latin America. |
